Act of May 11, 1912 Declaration for Pension State of West Virginia, County of Marion
On this____day of ____A.D. one thousand nineteen hundred and fourteen personally appeared before me a______within and for the county and state aforesaid JOHN FLUHARTY who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 66 years of age, and a resident of Mannington County of Marion, State of West Virginia; and that he is the identical person who was enrolled at Wheeling, West Virginia under the name of John Fluharty, on the 14th day of March, 1865 as a Private in Co. A, 7th West Virginia Infantry in the service of the United States, in the Civil war (honorably discharged has been crossed out.)
That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than stated above. That his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Height 5 feet 5 inches; complexion, dark; color of eyes, blue; color of hair, black; that his occupation was farmer; that he was born August 17th, 1847 at Marion County, Virginia (now W.Va.)
That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as follows: Wetzel County, W.Va., one year: Ritchie County, W.Va., about 6 months: Wetzel County, W.Va., 1 1/2 yrs ;Marion County, W.Va., 1 1/2 yrs; Wetzel, 3 years; Wood Co. 15 yrs; Wetzel 9 yrs.; Marion Co., W.Va. since.
That he is not a pensioner. That he has since heretofore applied for pension in 1894 and in 1912.
That he makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the act of May 11, 1912.
